DENTAL IMPLANTS

A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO DENTAL IMPLANTS:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

This guide provides detailed information on dental implants, a popular tooth replacement option. From the evaluation and planning process to the benefits and costs, we cover all aspects of dental implants. Discover if dental implants are the right choice for restoring your smile and improving your oral health.

A SUCCESSFUL IMPLANT TYPICALLY CONSISTS OF THREE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS, EACH PLAYING A CRUCIAL ROLE IN THE OVERALL STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF THE PROSTHETIC TOOTH:

Implant: The first part of the implant is surgically placed into the

jawbone by a qualified surgeon. This implant serves as a sturdy

foundation that can support the abutment and crown.

Abutment: Once the implant has healed and fused with the jawbone, the next step is to attach an abutment to it. The abutment is usually installed by a dental professional, such as The Smile Suite, and acts as a connector between the implant and the crown.

Implant Crown: The final part of the implant is the implant crown, which is typically placed by the same dental professional who installed the abutment. The crown is custom-made to match the color and shape of your natural teeth and is attached to the abutment, providing a functional and aesthetically pleasing replacement for your missing tooth.

Overall, each of these three parts is crucial to the success of a dental implant, and proper installation and maintenance of each component are essential for the long-term health and functionality of the prosthetic tooth.

THE PROCESS OF DENTAL IMPLANTATION ENTAILS MULTIPLE STEPS:

STEP 1: BONE GRAFTING

A specialist will remove the tooth and place a bone graft to ensure there is enough bone to support the implant. This process takes around three months to heal.

STEP 2: IMPLANT PLACEMENT

The same specialist will place the implant into the bone, and this will also need to heal for a minimum of three months. In certain cases, bone grafting and implant placement can be done at the same time.

STEP 3: FINAL RESTORATIVE STAGE

Once the implant has healed, the specialist will send a letter to release you for the final restorative stage of the implant. We will then schedule an appointment for you to come in and have the implant checked. We will also take a study model to create a custom impression tray, which takes about a week to make.

STEP 4: FINAL IMPRESSION

You will come back to our office for a final impression of the implant. At this appointment, we will remove the healing cap, place an impression post (given by the surgeon usually and is not the final abutment), take an impression, and put the healing cap back on. The impression goes to our dental lab, where they will create the implant abutment and crown.

STEP 5: PLACEMENT OF THE IMPLANT

ABUTMENT AND CROWN

After one month, you will return to our office to have the implant abutment and crown placed. The abutment is screwed onto the implant, and the crown is placed on top to give you a fully functional and natural-looking tooth.

Overall, the dental implant process takes several months to complete, but the result is a beautiful and long-lasting tooth replacement that will improve your oral health and confidence.

EXPLORING THE BENEFITS AND ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

Missing or failing teeth can have a significant impact on your daily life, making it difficult to chew, speak, and smile with confidence. That's where dental implants come in - they are a highly effective solution for restoring your smile and improving your overall oral health. At The Smile Suite, we take a personalized approach to the implant process, ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care, attention, and end result.

The implant process typically takes between 4-9 months to complete and involves three different pieces: the implant, the abutment, and the implant crown. At Smile Suite, we have skilled surgeons, who handle the placement of the implant, and a general dentist who restores the implant with an abutment and crown. We charge two separate fees for the procedure, one for the implant placement and one for the restoration.

The cost of a routine single-tooth implant at our clinic is around $7800, which includes both the surgeon's placement fees and the general dentist's restorative fees. However, additional costs may apply if you have sinus involvement or need any other pre/post-placement requirements. We also offer options like Zirconia implants, PRF, Temporary Partials that may incur additional costs.

We believe that every person deserves a beautiful and healthy smile. Our team is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and expertise in every aspect of the implant process. So, whether you need a single tooth implant or a full mouth restoration, we are here to help you achieve your dental goals.
